Description
Berber rugs inspired by old Moroccan Berber patterns now revived by our Afghan weavers sometimes in new colour palettes for our current tastes. Thick hand knots make the rugs very soft, almost fluffy and pliable in feel.
Made by weavers in Aqchae and Andkhoy, both cities located in the Northern regions of Afghanistan. These rugs depict the old Turkish Oushak patterns now revived by our Afghan weavers in new colour palettes for our current tastes.
The handspun wool is dyed using traditional vegetable and local dye recipes before the wool pile is knotted onto a woollen warp. Because these are all wool with thick knots the rugs are very soft, almost fluffy and pliable in feel.
